Travelling is fantastic; all those people, places, food and culture to explore. But how do you make the most of it, and what if your budget only extends to travelling in your own backyard?

As a seasoned traveller I’ve learnt many lessons from how to travel alone as a single woman in a foreign country, right through to how to pack light. Standing by the curb side in Tokyo at midnight, drenched from the rain and speaking no Japanese, was only the beginning of one adventure with two 40kg suitcases!

If you’re planning to splash out on a luxurious tropical island holiday, visit the jungle wilds or make a pilgrimage to the home of the Singapore Sling, you’ll read all about it in this travel section.

And yes, I always travel in true vintage glamour style; red lipstick can be worn while snorkling!
